DJ Def Rok

I decided I wanted to be a DJ, after watching an old DJ battle video i bought back in 94. Their was a battle between Mix Master Mike and DJ 8BALL. Seeing what they were doing to the records and Turntables back then , changed my Life forever.

I was a promising footballer up until i was 19, Then a knee injury cut that career short. So i decided to put my record collection I had building up to good use.

Got first gig in 99' at the Ruff Endz concert after-party. At the Daintree @ Darling Harbour.

2000 - 2006

I Bought my first pair of Turntables in 2000 and got my first regular gig 2 weeks after at the Score Bar @ Star city. I spent two years there , but i was doing other mobile and club gigs on the side for the whole time i spent there.

My first break with RNB Superclub came in late 2002 at Superjamm @ Bristol arms hotel. From there I have worked at every Superclub Event ever Since.

My style of Djing is unique as I dont just play music, I try to manipulate the music Im playing by Scratching, doubling and sampling to make it sound fresh. So everyone knows thats the DEF ROK sound, and it helps me stay ahead of the next person.

My influences Djing wise have been Mix Master Mike, Q.bert, A.trak, Craze and Premier.

My favourite artist of all time is The Notorious B.I.G.
