Standing at a formidable 6’ft 4, this cat in the hat is definitely
Australia’s newest prodigy hype-man. MC JAYSON exploded onto the
rnb/hip hop club scene over two years ago & is now one of the
Australia’s most sought after MC’s.
Belittling other MC’s with his grand stature, MC JAYSON really ain’t
hard to miss, blessing crowds with his proverbial vocal gymnastics &
sounds at the biggest rnb/hip hop events in this country.
Leading the next generation of hype-men down the party halls of
groove, armed with nuttin’ but a microphone & a smile, MC JAYSON’s
light-hearted approach to crowd motivation is like a breath of fresh
air compared to many other hardened, more seasoned MC’s.
After gaining the respect & recognition he so greatly deserved, two
years strong MC JAYSON has worked along side Australia’s top Dj’s in
SeFu, Lilo, Troy T & Def Rok on a weekly basis & also DJ’s Stanley,
G-Wizard, Mark Molina, Carl Alley & Solz just to name a few. Securing
spots at rnbsuperclub (North Sydney, Manly, Central Coast, and
Newcastle), Hunny, Jigsaw, Deep Blu and every long weekend at
Superjamm.
To
add to his credentials, MC JAYSON has is the official MC on the
‘rnbsuperclub CD Vol 4.0’ which was mixed by DJ SeFu & Troy T, also
members of the rnbsuperclub team. He is currently touring with DJ’s
SeFu & Troy T to promote the CD in Melbourne, Cairns, Noosa,
Canberra, Mackay, Brisbane, Townsville, Wollongong, Gold Coast, Alice
Springs & Darwin. Make no mistake about it, creating a buzz from party-goers and
industry heads alike - people are talking about MC JAYSON, an MC with
a difference. Step into one of the parties he’s hosting and quickly
you’ll see why he is the new crowd favourite.
What influenced you
to want to become an MC? Well actually I started out as a singer/songwriter & have been
involved in music for a very long time. I play a number of
instruments as well as write lyrics. Becoming an MC was a way to get
some club & industry exposure also adding with promoting myself to the
Sydney/Australian club scene.
How did you get your
first break? Let’s just say I was in the right club on the right night at the right
time!!!
Have you modelled
your MC style after anyone? Not really because having your own style or E’stille as I call it is
very important to be recognized as not one of the rest. I see myself
as an innovator not and imitator...
Do you classify
yourself as a run of the mill RnB/Hip Hop MC? Well I try to steer away from the common stereotype of MC’s these
days. This means that people will be able to distinguish between me &
other MC’s. Freestyling over tracks with vocals is not my job.
Best thing about your
job? Being able to have an influence on how the night goes. Witnessing
different crowds at different venues or yeah & the free drinks!!
Worst thing? Getting too many and annoying requests’, not that requests aren’t ok,
but ‘Usher - Yeah’ at 9.30??
On any given night,
what do you bring to the table? Me, myself and I!!! I bring willingness to be there (on time) &
contribute to the amusement of the clubbers. Helping them help
themselves to have a good, I mean great night.
Most people remember
you having a very big afro. Where’s it gone? Uummm well it just had to go. Gooonnnnnnnnneeeeeeee goony goo goo.
Lets just say there was abit of a weekly career change & well the fro
had to go.
Anything else to add? Uhu
Uhu Ohh Oh…………www.mrjayson.com coming soon to the double U double U
double U!!
