Establishing himself as one of the country’s brightest and most talented artists, Raye has firmly made his presence felt in his original home state of Queensland with a consistent placing in the state’s top 5 DJ’s while being recognised on a whole national level with a placing of Australia’s #8 DJ in the In The Mix Top 50 Awards 2008/2009. A fantastic achievement for a Queensland based DJ. His potential was quickly recognised by Australia’s premiere dance label and musical heavyweight Ministry Of Sound. Over the last couple of years Raye has been responsible for mixing the hugely successful Ministry Of Sound Clubbers Guide To Spring [2008] and Ministry Of Sound In The Club [2009] compilations. This experience also resulted in Raye touring both Australia and New Zealand under the Ministry banner. Recognised as being one of the most versatile DJ’s on the circuit and Australian dance music’s ‘Mr Nice Guy’ Antonelli is a regular fixture at many of the country’s leading festivals including Summafieldayze, Future Music Festival, Parklife, Good Vibrations, & Global Gathering amongst others, while playing guest spots and holding down residencies in a vast host of major cities and towns all over the country. During this time Raye has had the opportunity to rock the spot alongside & share the stage with some of the most talented & personally influential acts & djs including: Cassius, Boys Noize, Mr Oizo, Riton, Stephan Bodzin, Lifelike, Surkin, Carl Cox, Bloc Party, Cajuan, Para One, Kissy Sell Out, Derrick Carter, Afrojack, Laidback Luke, Juan Maclean, Tom Neville, Larry Tee, Jesse Rose, Beastie Boys, Sander Kleinenberg, Chris Lake, Sasha, Switch, Yelle, Alan Braxe, Kris Menace, Jona, King Unique, and many more… Also lending his hand to production Raye’s debut remix of Sidney Samson – Shut Up & Let It Go was signed to one of the globes biggest house music labels Cr2. Upcoming remixes and original production work are scheduled for release over the summer and early 2011. Keeping in line with his hard working and progressive ethos, Raye recently packed his bags 6 months ago and moved to Sydney from his Gold Coast home to take up a fulltime position in the A&R/Recordings Department at Ministry Of Sound. As an integral member of the team Raye is responsible for searching, researching and finding that next big record while distributing the endless stream of quality Ministry Of Sound releases to all the country’s highest profile DJ’s week in week out. Through all this Antonelli has the magic key to access plenty of quality upfront & highly sought after pre release musical treats, which he showcases each weekend when it gets down to party time. |
