DJ Chia

Dubbed as the ‘Temptress of Hard Dance’, at 22 years of age, Chia has secured her place as a rising star in the Australian dance scene.  This young DJ's sheer determination and perseverance, coupled with her passion for dance music has led Chia to develop a strong following in Australia and turned her into the exciting performer she is today, delivering her trademark sounds to dance floors across the country. 

Mid 2004 will see Chia's first production release on UK underground dance label XITE (www.honeypotrecordings.com).  The track, 'Turned to Dust', is a collaboration with fellow DJ Yoshi, and the 12”inch will feature a remix from UK maestro producers Billy Daniel Bunter and Roosta.  Mid 2004 is also the date set for the release of a mix compilation CD mixed by Chia for the Australian Downunderground CD series. 

No stranger to performing, Chia secured her first club residencies in her hometown Brisbane at 18 years of age. She has spent the past 4 years honing her skills performing at major clubs and festivals around the nation, her DJ talents so evident that in late 2003 she was invited to move to Sydney and join the Independent Reflections DJ Agency. 

As the latest addition to the Independent Reflections family, Chia performs weekly at Gas Nightclub, Icebox Nightclub and Daydreams Dayclub.  She also holds residency with the Brisbane Advent*jah team and is frequently billed for dance parties around Australia, appearing at parties such as Hyperspeed, System 6, Slinky, Helter Skelter, ReAnimator, Mayhem, Atomic NRG and Circus-X.  

Familiar with the club circuit, Chia has performed at many major clubs around the nation including Hard Kandy, Bubble and Altitude in Melbourne; 4 To The Floor, The Beat, Rise, Matrix and Sundex in Brisbane; Babylon Nightclub in Canberra; Epidemic and Evolution parties on the Sunshine Coast and Mansion Nightclub on the Gold Coast.

 Chia has played alongside many international artists including Ed Real, Anne Savage, Kai Tracid, DJ Wag, Tom Harding, Dave Randall, Karim, Captain Tinrib, Brisk, Vinylgroover, Guyver and Pulsar to name a few.  Headed for huge success - Chia is being hailed as one of the nation’s most exciting young DJs.
