DJ Yoshi

Within Australia’s hard dance scene Yoshi has become one wanted DJ. Playing out for only four years he has earned himself a massive following and obtained residences in some of Sydney’s and Australia's top clubs and parties. At the age of 26 he has established himself as one of Australia's top Dj's and this  phenomenon of sight and sound is travelling faster than the speed of light when it comes to providing his disciples with what they want.

Yoshi has played alongside renowned artists such as Fergie, BK, Andy Farley, Nick Sentience, Lab-4, Phil Reynolds, Paul Glazby, Ingo, Mauro Picotto, Mario Piu, John `00’ Fleming, Timo Maas, Skol, Ian Mac, Tiesto, Ian M, Ed Real, K90, Dave Randall, The Disco Brothers, Steve Blake, Pete Wardman, CRU-L-T, Dave Clark, Jeff Mills, Daniel Ro, Steve Hill, Matt Clark and many more at parties including Frantic, Convergence, Hard House Academy, Timeless, Provocation, Two Tribes, Gatecrasher, Utopia, Adventjah, Godskitchen, Sounds On Sunday, Progress, Transmission, Sublime,  Hard Kandy and Godspeed.

Renowned for his uplifting sound, weather it be driving hard dance, banging hard house, or his uplifting trance Yoshis' sound is always  fast, phat and hard with no time to rest. Playing quality tracks with first class production Yoshi will take you to another level.

2000-01 had seen Yoshi travel both interstate and international playing in London, Melbourne, Canberra and Adelaide. Mixing at renound gigs such as Hard House Acadamy @ Brixton Acadamy, Happy Valley a massive three day outdoor festival, spinning with Fergie @ Sounds On Sunday and Frantic’s 1st birthday with Lab 4. He also appeared on Nova 96.9 as a regular guest DJ.

In Dec 2001 Yoshi released a nation wide, double pack cd with an assortment of `yosh’ trademark minutes of driving tunes, hand picked by the man himself. All mashed together with smooth seamless mixing, it takes you through what you would hear from him on any given weekend, a true representation of what he has developed as his own sound. A sound that has fast become popular with a vast majority of Sydney, it’s not hard to understand why Yoshi is in demand interstate as well as internationally.

The ball has just kept rolling in 2002 with Yoshi returning to London for Timeless @ Camden Palace, playing major local gigs such as Two Tribes, Gatecrasher, Godskitchen, Utopia, Adventjah, Transmission and Sounds On Sunday’s 3rd Birthday. During this he has obtained several residencies with Frantic and Progress @ Gas, Fryd Delights @ The IceBox and Daydreams @ The Pavillion.

Production has been a major focus for Yoshi in 2002-03 with his trip to London in May giving him the chance to write a tune for Kevin Energy and the Nu Energy Collective to be released on Peroxide Records. Called `The 4th Dimention’ it has been remixed for the flipside by Phil Reynolds and Steve Blake and is to be released Oct 2003. He has also had two releases `My Dj' and `Bass Trap' on an Australian Cd compilation called `Inner City Beats' through Eyelash Records. `Bass Trap' which is a collaboration between Yoshi and a close friend Price Cuts as well as `You Cats Will' a solo production,  has also been signed to a French breaks label call Labrok and is due for release May 2004.

It seem's nothing can stop Yoshi from heading to new heights, placing 13th in the 2003 Australia / NZ  Technics Top 50 dj poll, (voted by the public). He has also gained exclusive residence at Melbourne's No.1 hard dance club Hard Kandy and has released his second cd compilation, titled `The Sound Track Of My Life'  through Independent and Enigma Records Oct 2003. With his forth vinyl release`Turn To Dust' to be pressed on Xite Records with the remix done by none other than Dj Roosta, who knows what the future has in store for this young Dj / Producer. Regularly performing alongside local acts such as Bexta, Mark Dynamix, Nick Fish, John Ferris, Jumping Jack, Nervous, Archie, Vixen and many more. Yoshi’s vibrant nature is a fresh sight behind the wheels of steel.

Future Aspirations:

-  Working endlessly in the studio writing tunes, playing my own tracks and hoping to have more releases.

-  Working very closely with Frantic Australia and abroad.

-  Focus and expand on my residences.

-  Long term I hope to make the move to London, travel the world and engineer for labels and artists both overseas and in Australia.

-  Multiply and in cases introduce Hard Dance to the masses and above all KEEP SMILING
